I love journaling because it helped me to heal and understand my inner self and to love unconditionally. Even after ten years of journaling, I look forward to each evening to unwind by journaling before turning the lights out.
When I began journaling, I wrote in my journal almost every night and focused on a variety of areas such as dreams, aspirations, and gratitude. In almost every aspect of my life, I witnessed a profound transformation.
There are many beautiful journals available to purchase, but for my first journal I used a multi-sectioned three-ring binder with college ruled paper. I made tabs for the binder with sections for daily reflections, gratitude, dreams, signs, diet and health, and affirmations. I also had a section for letters and notes that I wrote to my spirit guides, angels, and dearly departed loved ones.
There are no rules to journaling. No need to worry if words are misspelled or if it doesn’t look neat. Don’t know how to get started or what to write, take a few moments before breaking into the flow of writing. Start writing whatever comes from your heart.
Finding time to journal can also be a challenge, especially for those of us who have family and work obligations. Once you find the time to write and get into a pattern of writing, the benefits will outweigh the challenges.
