One With the Ocean

Wearing my wetsuit, I entered the cold ocean
Waves crashed against my weakened body
My mind said, “You can do this”
Yet as fast as the thought, I went down
The force of the ocean was too strong
It grabbed me, taking me down to its sandy bottom
The ocean said, “You’re mine and I’m not letting go”
All I could do was surrender
Suddenly, no more fears
No more tears of pain
No more days of waiting
The ocean and I were one again

You Can Do This

The ocean was cold
Waves crashing down
You can do this
Just keep your ground
The ocean was rough
With its sandy floor
You can do this
No one is keeping score
The ocean was shifting
Broke through the surface with ease
You can do this
The ocean has empathy
