April's Story

"You are an Alchemist"

That’s what an intuitive counselor told April while he helped her understand a life changing phenomenon when she experienced a dramatic shift in her spiritual journey, which was beyond her imagination and comprehension.
Through weekly meetings of delving into childhood regression and past lives, she began to see her life’s purpose. Driven to understand the love she felt but could not see, she started reading as many spiritual books as she could to validate this new level of consciousness.
She began journaling about self-reflection, gratitude, dreams, affirmations, signs, and intuitive awareness. In almost every aspect of her life, she witnessed a profound transformation. Through daily prayer, she began to see the light – recreating herself, loving herself more, and not being afraid to express love for others.
On a deeper level, she opened her heart and soul to God. She became aware that we are ALL eternal spirit beings — beings of God’s love and light and ALL interconnected. Souls and love are infinite and cannot be destroyed.
She discovered that, when our soul yearns to awaken and expand the love that has always existed, personal and spiritual growth is stimulated and deeper relationships are developed.

April began writing haiku poetry as a way to develop greater creativity in her personal and professional life. Through daily meditation, she taps into the present moment, and a new vision of the world gradually appears around her, inspiring her to see beyond.

Her first book of poems, The Garden Path to My Heart: Finding Inner Peace through Haiku, was published in January 2020, and is available on Amazon. The second one, The Garden Path to My Heart: Finding Inner Light through Poetry, was published in October 2020 and is also available on Amazon.

Then she discovered the ancient Japanese poetry form called “tanka.” Her first tanka poem was written shortly after a meditation in which she saw herself sitting on the bank of a river with a brown bear. There was balance between them. Fear did not exist, only unconditional love.

In her third volume of poems, there are three sections: Spirit, Earth and Love. Each section is in memory of someone dear to her who left our world too soon. She went deep within her soul and found inner balance through poetry, mindfulness, and meditation. She fully embraced her connection with Japanese poetry, the samurai warrior, and our planet Earth. Her third volume for this book series, Poemagery, Finding Inner Balance through Poems and Images, published in February 2021.

After publishing her third book of poems, she found herself wanting to write more tanka poems, but this time she was inspired to write about animals. In this book, April shares her technique for writing poetry. The title of this book is Animal Poemagery: Poems and Images of Animals in the Air, on Land and in the Sea. The book was published on May 21, 2021, which was Endangered Species Day.
April published her first children’s book, The Missing Caterpillar, on August 12, 2021.

She is currently working on several book projects, including two more children’s books, and nurturing her skills to become a more intuitive nature and outdoor photographer.

Animal Poemagery - Poems and Images of Animals in the Air, on Land, and in the Sea - April Joy Manger

What particularly lifts my heart in these pages is April’s grounding in the natural world. She feels deeply the emotional connection between herself and the existence of other living beings and the beautiful, breathtaking environment in which we are all embedded.
